Stream Deck Comes Full Circle

Almost eight years after Elgato picked up the pieces of Art Lebedev's ambitious Optimus keyboard and went in a different direction, we're finally seeing a keyboard with Stream Deck integration. The Corsair Galleon 100 SD combines a premium mechanical gaming keyboard with a complete Stream Deck Plus built directly into it.

Announced at CES 2026, this wired mechanical keyboard features 12 fully customizable buttons with individual LCD screens, a multi-purpose 5-inch 720x1280 IPS display, and two rotary dials—everything found in the standalone Stream Deck Plus, plus a full gaming keyboard.

Not the First Attempt

This isn't Corsair's first foray into combining Stream Deck with their products. The 2022 Corsair Voyager gaming laptop included touch-sensitive buttons that could be configured using Elgato's software, but it was underbaked compared to this full-featured implementation.

The Galleon 100 SD represents a remarkable improvement, offering the complete Stream Deck experience rather than a compromised version. It's the culmination of "many, many years of customer requests," according to Corsair.

Gaming Keyboard Specifications

Beyond the Stream Deck integration, the Galleon 100 SD is a serious gaming keyboard:

  • 8,000Hz polling rate for ultra-responsive input
  • Hot-swappable PCB with MLX Pulse magnetic switches
  • Gasket mounting for improved typing feel
  • FlashTap support for simultaneous opposing cardinal directions
  • Premium build quality with RGB lighting

Enhanced Stream Deck Features

According to Elgato general manager Julian Fest, the Galleon's Stream Deck uses a bigger, higher-resolution screen behind the keys than currently available Stream Decks, with improved viewing angles. The 5-inch display shows weather, Spotify cover art, and custom widgets while the buttons control everything from OBS scenes to smart home lighting.

The Stream Deck's programmable buttons offer endless possibilities thanks to a vibrant marketplace of plugins—from launching applications and macros to controlling webcams, adjusting lighting, and even popping virtual bubble wrap.

Two Devices, Two Software

The Galleon technically operates as two devices: the keyboard side is controlled by Corsair's web hub browser tool, while the Stream Deck requires Elgato's Stream Deck software. However, this won't always be the case—Corsair is working on firmware updates that will let the Stream Deck side control keyboard settings like LED profiles and polling rate.

The Stream Deck buttons can also function as a numpad, giving the keyboard additional versatility beyond its standard layout.

The Mountain Connection

The Galleon's creation story involves an interesting twist: it may not have happened without Mountain keyboards' Everest Max. That keyboard featured a detachable numpad with four programmable buttons with screens—its own take on Stream Deck functionality.

Elgato's Julian Fest bought one, disassembled it, and had it checked for patent infringement. Fast forward a few years, and Mountain's founder Tobias Brinkmann now heads up Corsair's gaming business. "I'm personally grateful that it took Corsair so long, and they couldn't get it together," Brinkmann jokes. "It helps that Julian and I both have German backgrounds, and we kind of like each other."

Who Is This For?

At $349.99, the Galleon 100 SD is a premium product aimed at streamers, content creators, and serious gamers who want the convenience of Stream Deck integration without needing a separate device on their desk. It's particularly well-suited for players of hardcore simulators like Star Citizen, though Corsair is working with publishers to build native Stream Deck integration into more games.

The Stream Deck has become ubiquitous among streamers, but it's also increasingly popular with everyday users who simply need quick access to webcam and microphone controls. The Galleon makes this functionality more accessible while also delivering a high-end gaming keyboard experience.

Availability and Pre-Orders

The Corsair Galleon 100 SD launches on January 29, 2026, with pre-orders available now for $349.99. This represents years of development and customer feedback coming together in what could be the ultimate streaming and gaming keyboard.
