New IRL Streaming Policy for TwitchCon Rotterdam

For the first time, TwitchCon is introducing a formal, dedicated IRL streaming policy for its Rotterdam event. The goal is to make convention streaming more enjoyable for all attendees — both those who want to stream and those who would rather not be on camera.

Keep Paths Clear

Streamers must keep all pathways clear at all times — including aisles, walkways, stairways, entrances, exits, and emergency routes. Blocking foot traffic while streaming is a direct violation.

No Streaming Areas

Streaming is not allowed in any areas marked with "No Recording / No Streaming" signage. These zones will be clearly marked throughout the venue.

Permission-Based Lanyards

Attendees who prefer not to be filmed can wear a designated lanyard. IRL streamers must not interview, approach, or prominently feature anyone wearing this lanyard — or anyone who verbally declines to be on camera.

Follow Staff Instructions

Attendees must follow TwitchCon Staff instructions immediately, including any request to stop streaming or relocate. Refusal may result in a streaming suspension.

Violations & Consequences

Twitch is taking this policy seriously. Attendees who violate the IRL streaming rules may face the following consequences, escalating by severity:

  • 1Temporary suspension of streaming ability for the duration of TwitchCon
  • 2Extended suspension depending on the severity of the violation
  • 3Removal from TwitchCon entirely
  • 4Restricted ability to attend TwitchCon in the future

Meet & Greet Changes: Reservations Required

Another significant change at TwitchCon 2026 Rotterdam is the Meet & Greet format. Going forward, every Meet & Greet will require a prior reservation. Walk-ups will no longer be allowed — this applies to guests and plus-ones as well.

Twitch is also reworking the physical layout of Meet & Greet areas: better crowd management, improved queue design, additional dedicated staff, and stronger backstage support for participating creators.

Security Upgrades

Twitch has increased overall investment in TwitchCon security for 2026. This includes more trained staff on-site, clearer escalation plans for faster response times, and stronger coordination across all venue teams. The changes are designed to allow staff to intervene sooner and more effectively when situations require it.

Rotterdam 2026 is the Final Year Before a Move

Twitch also confirmed that TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026 will be the last edition at its current location before the event moves to a new European city. TwitchCon San Diego continues in the Gaslamp Quarter through 2028. The San Diego 2026 Call for Content goes live in June.
