Twitch opened TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026 with a packed feature keynote, unveiling over a dozen updates coming to the platform. The headline announcement: 1440p (2K) streaming is rolling out to all Partners and Affiliates next month. Alongside that, Twitch announced AI-powered clip tools, GIFs in chat, new community features, and three brand-new Unity Guilds.
All Features Announced at TwitchCon Rotterdam
Launching next month for all Partners and Affiliates. Streams can go live at 1440p resolution with bumped-up bitrates across the board for sharper, more detailed video.
Twitch is adding native vertical stream support — ideal for mobile viewers and cross-posting content to TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
A new AI-powered feature that gives viewers a quick catch-up summary of what happened on a stream — perfect for joining a broadcast mid-session.
Twitch will display a sorted list of the best clips from your stream at the top of the stream page, making it easier for viewers to find top moments.
Clips created by the community can now have auto-generated captions added. Streamers and editors can refine the caption text, timing, and style.
Channels will now be able to celebrate moderator milestones — similar to subscriber anniversaries but recognized every six months rather than monthly.
Viewers can now send GIFs directly in Twitch chat. GIF sharing will be subject to moderation tools to keep chat safe.
Twitch Auto Clips automatically creates highlight reels from your best stream moments using chat activity, voice tone, and on-screen events. Alpha is currently English-only — apply to join.
Say the words "Twitch Clip That" during your stream and Twitch will automatically create a shareable clip of that moment.
A new Mythic-tier HypeTrail that awards golden versions of classic Twitch emotes — PogChamp, CoolCat, WutFace — active for 24 hours.
As part of ad campaigns, Twitch will let viewers play game demos directly in the browser — no download required. Launching in North America, Europe, and Asia.
