Kick pays more per supporter and pays for viewership itself: $4.75 of every $5 sub, 95% of tips, and a Partner Program that pays per stream. Twitch has the bigger audience — about 2.4 times Kick's watch time in Q3 2026 — and almost all of the English, Russian, German and French viewing. If your audience speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish or Polish, or you stream casino content, the viewers are already on Kick. For most English-language streamers, Twitch is still where the audience is.

Money: What a Supporter Is Worth on Each
A hundred subs pay about $475 a month on Kick, $250 on Twitch at the default split and about $350 once you hold 300 Plus Points, before taxes. Plus Points come from recurring paid subs only — gift and Prime subs do not count toward qualifying. The bigger structural difference is platform-funded pay. The KICK Partner Program pays every stream according to how many viewers show up, once you hold 75 average viewers, 30 hours, 25 active subs, 250 unique chatters and 3 VODs in 30 days, plus 250 followers and a verified channel. Kick says it has paid creators more than $400 million since launching it in 2024. Twitch has no equivalent: beyond subs and Bits, its money comes from a 55% ad share and brand deals. “Kick pays $16 an hour” is out of date
The figure comes from creators' reports during Kick's 2024 Creator Incentive Program; Kick never published a rate. In March 2025 it renamed the program KICK Partner and lowered the bar (from 100 to 75 average viewers, 50 to 30 hours). Today Kick's pitch is simply that your income “scales directly with your audience” — and it pays nothing for gambling and Just Sleeping streams and half while you multistream. Getting paid works differently too. Kick pays through Stripe — monthly, with a weekly option once you are verified — so you need a bank account in a country Stripe pays out to. Rules: Gambling and the 2026 Kick Rewrite
Gambling is the rule that split the two platforms. Since October 18, 2022 Twitch has banned streaming slots, roulette and dice sites that are not licensed in the US or another jurisdiction with consumer protections — Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits and Roobet were named at launch — along with gambling links and referral codes. Sports betting, fantasy sports and poker stayed allowed. Kick permits gambling where it is legal, and it shows: Slots & Casino was about 9% of Kick's hours watched in Q3 2026.
Kick did tighten the terms. On March 19, 2026 it replaced its Community Guidelines wholesale, condensing 14 rules into 11. For gambling that means sponsors licensed in the relevant jurisdiction, affiliate links disclosed next to the link or out loud, proper age labels and categories, and no gambling with other users' money — buy-in giveaways included. The same rewrite added stricter protections for minors, labeling for AI-generated content that mimics reality, and a “context and intent” test for enforcement. Streaming on Both at Once
Both allow it, with conditions. Twitch requires your Twitch stream to be at least as good as the copies elsewhere and forbids sending Twitch viewers away. Kick has no condition unless you are a Partner, in which case you switch on the Multistreaming toggle (or type /multi on) before going live on Twitch or YouTube and accept half the Partner pay for that session. Vertical platforms — TikTok Live, Instagram Live, YouTube Shorts — do not need the toggle, so clips and vertical simulcasts cost a Kick Partner nothing.

Can I stream on Kick and Twitch at the same time?
Yes. Twitch allows simulcasting as long as your Twitch stream is at least as good as the others and you do not direct Twitch viewers elsewhere. Kick allows multistreaming too; if you are in the KICK Partner Program you must turn on the Multistreaming toggle (or type /multi on) before going live on Twitch or YouTube, and your Partner payout is cut by 50% for that session.
Why are streamers moving to Kick?
Money and rules. Kick pays 95% of subs and tips, its Partner Program pays per stream (Kick says it has paid out more than $400 million since 2024), and it allows slots and casino streams from sites Twitch has banned since 2022, as long as the sponsor is licensed where it operates. In 2023 it also signed big names — xQc's non-exclusive two-year deal was reported at about $70 million. The often-quoted "Kick pays $16 an hour" comes from creators' reports during the 2024 Creator Incentive Program; Kick never published an hourly rate, renamed the program KICK Partner in March 2025, and now pays according to how many viewers show up.
Does Kick pay $16 an hour?
Not as a rule. Some creators reported around $16 an hour under the 2024 Creator Incentive Program, but Kick never confirmed a rate. The program is now the KICK Partner Program: you need 75 average viewers, 30 hours, 25 active subs, 250 unique chatters, 3 VODs and 250 followers in 30 days, and pay scales with your viewers per stream. Gambling and Just Sleeping streams earn nothing from it.
Is Kick or Twitch better for small streamers?
Kick has far fewer channels competing for the same categories — about 91,000 channels streamed in August 2026 against about 748,000 on Twitch — and subscriptions unlock after 5 hours of streaming. Twitch lets you take subs and Bits from your first stream and its Affiliate bar is low (3 average viewers), but you start at the bottom of much bigger categories. On both, early growth mostly comes from clips and communities outside the platform.
Does Kick allow gambling streams?

Twitch's standard stream is 1080p60 at about 6,000 kbps, but Enhanced Broadcasting raises 1080p to 7.5 Mbps and gives Affiliates and Partners 1440p (2K) in HEVC at up to 9 Mbps. Kick also warns that growing channels may only offer viewers up to 720p60 until they pass an engagement threshold.
Is Kick growing faster than Twitch?
Yes. In Streams Charts data, Kick's monthly hours watched rose 31% from September 2025 to August 2026, against 12% for Twitch, and Kick went from about a third of Twitch's watch time to 39% in August. Twitch is still the bigger platform by a wide margin.
