How to Download Kick VODs and Clips

Kick clips have a Download button built in; Kick VODs do not, not even for the streamer. - 1Copy the VOD link. Open the channel on kick.com, go to the Videos tab, open the stream replay and copy the link from the address bar.
- 2Paste it into the Kick VOD Downloader. Open the Streams Charts Kick VOD Downloader and paste the link into the box at the top of the page.
- 3Choose resolution and format. Pick 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p or 160p, and MP4 or TS. You cannot get more than the stream was broadcast in.

Using the Kick VOD Downloader
The Streams Charts Kick VOD Downloader takes a replay link from kick.com and returns a file. Find the replay on the channel's Videos tab, copy the address, paste it in, and the tool shows the title, category, duration and view count so you can confirm it is the right stream before you commit disk space.
The feature that matters most is the time range. Instead of pulling an eight-hour broadcast to keep one segment, enter the start and end: 2:15:30, 15:30 and 930 are all valid, and a blank field means “from the start” or “to the end”. It is the fastest way to hand an editor a single moment.
Resolutions run from 160p to 1080p, and the file comes as MP4 or TS. TS is a broadcast-style container that VLC and desktop editors open fine; MP4 is the safer choice for phones and direct uploads. Downloading Kick Clips
Clips are the easy half. Kick's help center states that all clips can be downloaded when viewed:
- Open the clip, from the channel's Clips tab or a shared link.
- Click Download.
- The clip saves as an .mp4.
If you are the one clipping, the same Download button appears right after you publish. Kick clips are 10 to 180 seconds long, any logged-in viewer can make one from a live stream or a VOD, and Kick enforces a 60-second cooldown between clips. At three minutes, a clip from a VOD is often a quicker way to save a moment than downloading the replay.
The Streams Charts Kick Clip Downloader is for when you have only a link, are working from a phone, or want the file without opening Kick. Paste the link, press Download, then Download again once it is processed. Clips stay up until the channel owner deletes them, which only the owner can do.
How Long Kick Keeps VODs
From Kick's help center as of September 2026. The replay cap can bite before the day count does: a verified channel that streams twice a day reaches 30 replays in about two weeks.

Pinning is Kick's newest answer to expiry. Partner and verified channels can pin up to five VODs, which keeps them on the channel for good and moves them to the top. It is rolling out on web and mobile web first, and a VOD can only be pinned while it is still inside its retention window. Watch the unpin: an unpinned VOD does not go back to its old expiry date, it is permanently deleted after 24 hours.

Kick VOD Into VLC: the m3u8 Route
A Kick VOD is streamed as an HLS playlist, a master.m3u8 file. Grab that link and any HLS-capable player or tool can open it. Kick's help center describes finding it by hand on a desktop browser:
- Open your browser and press F12 to open developer tools.
- Click the Network tab, then load the VOD.
- Type
m3u8in the Network filter. - Right-click master.m3u8 and choose Copy link address.
To watch it in VLC: Media → Open Network Stream, paste the link, press Play. That gives you seeking and playback speed control without the Kick player. To save it with VLC: Media → Convert / Save, Network tab, paste the link, pick an MP4 profile and a destination file, then Start. VLC re-encodes as it goes, so on a long VOD this is slow.
Faster, with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i "<master.m3u8 link>" -c copy kick-vod.mp4 copies the stream into an MP4 without re-encoding. Or yt-dlp, which has Kick VOD and clip support built in: yt-dlp <Kick VOD link>.
All of this works, but it is the long way round. The browser downloader does the same job, adds a time range, and works on a phone. Use the m3u8 route when you want VLC's player or you are scripting downloads.
Downloading From Kick on iPhone and Android
- Clips: copy the clip link and paste it into the Kick Clip Downloader in Safari or Chrome, or open the clip in the browser and use Kick's Download button.
- VODs: paste the replay link into the Kick VOD Downloader and choose MP4. Phone galleries and editing apps handle MP4 better than TS. Use the time range: a multi-hour VOD runs to gigabytes.
- Where files go: on iPhone, Files → Downloads (open the file and tap Share → Save Video to put it in Photos); on Android, the Downloads folder.
The m3u8 route needs developer tools, so it is desktop-only in practice.
Streamers: Keep Your Own Copy From the Start
Since Kick gives streamers no VOD download either, the most reliable archive is a local recording. OBS can record to disk while it streams, which gives you the full-quality file whether or not the replay survives on Kick. Downloading Is Not Permission to Repost
Kick puts a Download button on every clip, but a file on your drive does not come with the rights to it. The stream belongs to the streamer, and it can include music, footage or guests the streamer does not own either. Reuploading someone else's VOD or clip to YouTube or TikTok without permission invites copyright claims, and Kick runs its own DMCA strike process for content on the platform.

When a Kick Download Does Not Work
