Download TikTok LIVE Studio only from tiktok.com/studio/download. It is free and, according to TikTok's LIVE Studio help center, runs on both Windows and macOS. Installing it is the easy part: going live needs LIVE access on your account, which the app shows in its top-right corner as soon as you log in.

How to Download and Install TikTok LIVE Studio
- 1Open the official download page. Go to tiktok.com/studio/download. It is the only source TikTok's help center points to, and the app is free.
- 2Download the installer for your system. LIVE Studio has a Windows and a macOS version. Run the file once the download finishes and follow the installer.
- 3Log in with your TikTok account. Use the account you stream on. If you do not have one yet, you can sign up from the same login screen.
- 4Run first-time setup. “Set up now” walks you through content type, microphone, camera and a video quality based on your connection and hardware. “Import from another tool” brings your settings over from the streaming software you already use.
- 5Check your LIVE access. Your LIVE access status sits in the top-right corner. If it is not active, click it to apply; the Go LIVE button only works once access is granted.
Search results for “TikTok LIVE Studio download” are full of software-mirror sites. They host copies of TikTok's installer that you have no way to verify and that lag behind the current version. The app is free on tiktok.com, so there is nothing to gain from them.

LIVE Access: The Requirement That Actually Blocks You
LIVE Studio does not have its own eligibility — it uses your account's LIVE access. TikTok's help center describes three routes:
- Instant access if your account is old enough, you have gone live for enough time recently, you have enough followers and your LIVE access was not suspended recently. The follower figure in TikTok's support FAQ is 1,000, and TikTok says the thresholds vary by country.
- An application form for streamers already established on another platform. You describe your existing channel; review takes a few days and the decision arrives in the TikTok app.
- A trial, which stays active only if you go live for at least 25 minutes twice during the first week.
On top of that you must be 18 or older to host a LIVE, and access can be suspended for rule breaks — our TikTok LIVE rules guide lists the violations that most often cost creators their access.
TikTok LIVE Studio Not Working? Fixes
LIVE Studio opens, but you can't go live
Your account does not have LIVE access yet. Click the status in the top-right corner: requirements you meet are shown, the ones you don't are greyed out. Meet them and apply again — no setting inside the app skips this.
“My LIVE access was revoked”
The usual reason is an expired trial. TikTok requires trial users to go live for at least 25 minutes, twice, in the first week. The other reason is a violation — the inbox notification or the violation records in LIVE Center tell you which.
Banned or suspended from LIVE
Appeal from the violation detail page or the notification. TikTok says results arrive within 24 hours and there are three outcomes: success, fail, or a shorter ban. You can only appeal a violation once, so be specific about what was on screen.
Logged in, but it's the wrong account
LIVE Studio grants access per account. Log out and back in with the account that has LIVE access on your phone.
No sound, or your voice is muted
Open the Audio mixer at the bottom of the middle panel and check that the right microphone and output device are selected.
Phone camera feed (casting) freezes
Put the phone and the computer on the same Wi-Fi network. If it still freezes, TikTok suggests disabling the network firewall and reconnecting.
LIVE chat freezes, or the pop-out chat is invisible
Click Pop-out to detach or collapse the chat box and check your connection. If you can't see the pop-out chat over a game, the game is in fullscreen — switch it to borderless window or windowed mode.
Game or stream stutters
Lower the video quality in LIVE Studio's settings, switch from Wi-Fi to wired Ethernet, and close the browser and any other capture software — especially if your PC is near the minimum tier in the table above.

Did You Mean TikTok Studio?
TikTok Studio is a different product: the creator hub for uploading, editing, scheduling and analytics that replaced Creator tools and the Creator Center in 2024. Its “desktop version” is the website at tiktok.com/tiktokstudio, which runs in your browser. It cannot broadcast. TikTok Shop sellers also meet a third name, Streamer Desktop, a web tool for pinning products during a LIVE that likewise does not stream. Where can I download TikTok LIVE Studio?
From tiktok.com/studio/download — the page TikTok's own LIVE Studio help center links to. The app is free. Mirror sites host copies of the installer that you cannot verify and that may be out of date, so there is no reason to use them.
Is TikTok LIVE Studio free?
Yes. There is no paid tier. What you need is LIVE access on your TikTok account, not a licence.
Is there a TikTok LIVE Studio for Mac?
Yes. TikTok's LIVE Studio FAQ says the app is available for both macOS and Windows. The minimum Mac is an Apple M1 with 8 GB of memory, or a 2019-or-newer Intel iMac or Mac mini with a Core i7 or i9 and 16 GB; TikTok recommends an M2 Pro or higher.
What are the system requirements for TikTok LIVE Studio?
On Windows, the minimum is an Intel Core i3 9th Gen or AMD Ryzen 5 3000 series CPU, an NVIDIA GTX 10 series or AMD Radeon GPU and 8 GB of RAM. For gaming TikTok lists a Core i7 12th Gen or Ryzen 5 7000 series, an RTX 30 series or Radeon RX 6000 series GPU and 16 GB. TikTok does not list a minimum Windows or macOS version.
Why can't I go live on TikTok LIVE Studio?
Because LIVE Studio uses the same LIVE access as your phone. If your account has not been granted it — or a trial was revoked — the Go LIVE button will not work. Check the access status in the top-right corner of the app; it shows which requirements you have not met.
How many followers do I need for TikTok LIVE Studio?
The same as for going live on your phone: TikTok's support FAQ gives 1,000 followers and 18+, and says the threshold varies by region. The LIVE Studio help center adds account age, recent time spent live and no recent suspension as checks for instant access. Streamers established on other platforms can apply with a form instead.
Is TikTok Studio the same as TikTok LIVE Studio?
No. TikTok Studio is the creator hub for posting and analytics at tiktok.com/tiktokstudio — that is also what people mean by the “TikTok Studio desktop version”. It cannot broadcast. TikTok LIVE Studio is the separate streaming app you download.
Do I need a stream key for TikTok LIVE Studio?
No. LIVE Studio logs in with your TikTok account. A stream key is only needed for OBS or other third-party software, and TikTok gives keys only to accounts with RTMP access.
Is TikTok LIVE Studio better than OBS?
For TikTok-only streaming it is simpler: no key, native chat and gifts, and a setup wizard that can import settings from the tool you already use. OBS is the better choice if you stream to Twitch or YouTube at the same time, want plugins, or use Linux.
