Best TikTok Analytics Tools in 2026: Free, Paid and LIVE Compared

By Kenji Arai··10 min read

The best TikTok analytics tool for your own account is the free one already in the app: TikTok Studio shows watch time, traffic sources and audience data that no outside tool can see, and LIVE Center does the same for your streams. Add Exolyt to track competitors, hashtags or sounds, Socialinsider when TikTok is one of several networks you report on, HypeAuditor to vet creators before paying them, and TikTokStats.com to benchmark TikTok LIVE categories against Twitch, YouTube and Kick.

Every price and free tier below was checked on the vendor's own site in September 2026. Two tools from earlier versions of this guide, Pentos and Analisa.io, did not survive the check.

Pentos: the pentos.co domain no longer resolves, so there is nothing to sign up for. Analisa.io: the site refused connections from every network we tried, so we could not confirm the product or its prices. If you relied on Pentos for trending sounds, Exolyt tracks sounds and hashtags, one of each on its free plan.

TikTok Studio: The Free Native Analytics

TikTok's own analytics live in TikTok Studio. According to TikTok's help center, creator tools, analytics included, are available for both Personal and Business accounts. Guides telling you to switch to a Pro account first are describing how it worked in 2020.

Where to find it

  1. App: Profile → Menu ☰ → TikTok Studio → Analytics. Tap View all for the full breakdown. The first time, tap Get started within Analytics, then Turn on.
  2. One post: tap More insights at the bottom of the post on your profile.
  3. Computer: open tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and pick Analytics in the sidebar. TikTok's help center says analytics are best used in a browser, and the tables are easier to read there.

What each tab shows

TabWhat is in itUse it for
Key metrics (Overview)Views, profile views, likes, comments, shares and net followers for the period you pickIs the account growing week over week, or did one post carry the month?
ContentPer-post views, average watch time, watched full video, traffic sources and search queriesWhich hooks, lengths and topics actually hold people
FollowersGender, age, top locations and the hours your followers are activeWhen to post and when to go LIVE
LIVE (in the app)Total views, new followers, Diamonds, gifters and viewer rankingA quick read after a stream; open LIVE Center for the detail

The Followers tab is the input for scheduling: our best time to go live on TikTok guide shows how to turn those activity hours into a streaming slot.

Business accounts and the 60-day window

A Business account adds Business suite (Web Business Suite on a computer). Its analytics let you view and download Reach, Engagement, Conversion and Followers data, plus audience gender, age, top countries, top cities and activity. The date presets are the last 7, 28 and 60 days, with a custom range. If you want a year-over-year view, download monthly, or on a Personal account write your monthly totals down. Which account type to pick is covered in Creator vs Business account.

What native analytics cannot do: show anyone else's account, track a hashtag or sound across TikTok, or benchmark you against a niche. That gap is the only reason to pay for a third-party tool.

The Best Third-Party TikTok Analytics Tools

For accounts you do not own, any outside tool works from public data: views, likes, comments, shares, follower growth and posting frequency. Watch time and traffic sources stay in the owner's TikTok Studio. Pick a tool by the job it does, not by the number of charts.

Exolyt: competitors, hashtags and sounds

TikTok-only analytics and social listening. You track public accounts, hashtags and sounds, run influencer campaigns and, on higher plans, read comment sentiment and video transcriptions. The free Basic plan tracks one account, one hashtag and one sound, with 7 days of chart history and daily updates. Essentials is $400 a month or $330 billed yearly (50 of each, 90 days of history). Advanced is $950 or $790 billed yearly and adds age and gender analytics.

Exolyt vs TikTok native analytics

Native analytics cover only your account, but go deep: watch time, full-video rate, traffic sources, follower demographics. Exolyt covers any public account, hashtag or sound, but only with public numbers for accounts that are not yours. Use native analytics to improve your content and Exolyt to see what the rest of your niche is doing.

Socialinsider: TikTok inside a multi-network report

Cross-network analytics for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube, with competitor benchmarking, automated reports and unlimited exports on every plan. Adapt costs $82 a month billed yearly ($990 a year) for up to 20 social accounts, 3 months of historical post data and one seat; Optimize ($124) and Predict ($199) raise those limits. There is a 14-day trial with no card. It only makes sense when TikTok is one channel among several.

Socialinsider key metrics dashboard with posts, total engagement, impressions, engagement rate and an engagement trend chart

HypeAuditor: vet a creator before you pay them

An influencer marketing platform rather than a dashboard for your own account. Its free TikTok audit tool gives any public account an Audience Quality Score from 0 to 100, built from engagement rate, views spread, views-to-followers ratio and follower growth. The full platform (discovery, campaigns, reporting) is priced by quote after a demo.

TikTok LIVE Analytics

None of the paid tools above list TikTok LIVE analytics. For your own streams the data is TikTok's: live numbers on screen while you stream (tap the data section for more), and LIVE Center afterwards, in the app or at livecenter.tiktok.com on a computer. If you stream from a PC, the same analytics are documented in the TikTok LIVE Studio help center.

LIVE Center has two tabs. Overview covers the last 7 up to 60 days in four groups (viewership, engagement, rewards, activity), plus traffic sources, country, age and gender of your viewers. Video analysis breaks it down per stream and sorts by most recent, most Diamonds or most viewed. Sort both ways: the stream with the most viewers is often not the one that earned the most.

LIVE metricWhat TikTok countsHow to read it
Average concurrent viewersAverage number of people watching at the same timeThe honest size of your stream. Track this week to week rather than the peak.
Peak concurrent viewersHighest number watching at onceFind the minute it happened in the replay. Whatever you were doing then is your next opener.
Views vs unique viewersTotal views of the LIVE vs individual peopleViews well above unique viewers means people leave and come back; a hook that pulls them back works.
Average watch timeAverage time a viewer spends in your LIVELow watch time with healthy views means the stream gets found but does not hold. Fix the first minutes.
New followersFollowers gained during the LIVEDivide by unique viewers for a follow rate. Compare it across streams, not against other creators.
Gifters and DiamondsViewers who sent Gifts; Diamonds collectedFew gifters with many Diamonds means you depend on one or two supporters. Plan for that.

LIVE Center also counts new subscribers, comments, likes, shares, LIVE duration and active days. To see what your Diamonds are worth, run them through the TikTok coins calculator; how Gifts turn into payouts is in TikTok LIVE gifts, coins and Diamonds, and the subscriber side in TikTok Super Fan (formerly LIVE Subscription).

Benchmarking TikTok LIVE with TikTokStats.com

Your LIVE Center tells you how you did. It cannot tell you whether your category is growing. TikTokStats.com (our sister site) publishes TikTok LIVE market data for free: monthly category rankings by hours watched, average viewers and peak viewers, and a TikTok LIVE vs Twitch, YouTube and Kick comparison. In August 2026, Chats alone logged 1.89 billion hours watched, 52.3% of all TikTok LIVE watch time, and TikTok LIVE took 35.5% of the watch time measured across the four platforms, second to YouTube. It is a market view, not a tracker for your own channel.

For a walkthrough of reading your own numbers over 7- and 28-day windows, see TikTokStats' guide to tracking TikTok LIVE progress. When the numbers say you need more people in the room, our how to get viewers on TikTok LIVE playbook covers the organic and paid options.

The Metrics That Matter and How to Read Them

TikTok's own guidance is to read trends over time rather than chase one metric from video to video. It also says follower count is not a direct ranking factor, and that finishing a longer video counts as a strong signal of interest. So watch-time metrics come first.

MetricWhereHow to read it
Watched full videoPost → More insightsCompare against your own median. TikTok says finishing a longer video is a strong signal of interest.
Average watch timePost → More insightsRead it next to the video length: 9 seconds on a 12-second clip is good, on a 90-second video it is not.
Traffic sourcePost → More insightsMostly For You means you reach new people. Mostly Following or profile means you talk to the same audience.
Search queriesPost insights, Creator Search InsightsPut the words people searched into your caption and on-screen text for the next video on that topic.
Engagement rateCalculate: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ viewsSocialinsider's Q2 2026 benchmark is 3.85% by views across 2M+ posts. Your own trend matters more.
Net followersKey metricsSpikes point to a post worth remaking. Flat followers with rising views means people like the video, not the account.

A simple routine: once a week, sort last week's posts by watched full video, open the top and bottom two, and write down what the first three seconds did differently. That note is worth more than any dashboard. The same logic applies to clips you cut from streams; see growing with TikTok and Shorts.

Promote and Ads: Where Paid Results Show Up

Paid reach is reported separately from your organic analytics. For Promote, go to Profile → Menu ☰ → TikTok Studio (or Business suite) → Promote → Dashboard. It shows post and profile views, new followers, likes, comments, website clicks, the audience reached (gender, age, regions), status, duration and cost, both during and after the campaign. You need to be 18 or older and the post must be public with original or commercially licensed sound. TikTok's help center warns that paying with Coins, Apple Pay or Google Pay can add a service fee of around 30%.

Once you run campaigns rather than one-off boosts, reporting moves to TikTok Ads Manager. What those campaigns cost per thousand views and per click is in how much TikTok ads cost.

Which TikTok Analytics Tool Should You Use?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best TikTok analytics tool in 2026?

For your own account, TikTok Studio's free analytics — it is the only tool that sees your watch time, traffic sources and follower demographics. For LIVE streams, TikTok's LIVE Center. For competitors, hashtags and sounds, Exolyt. For agencies reporting several networks, Socialinsider. For benchmarking TikTok LIVE categories, TikTokStats.com.

What are the best free apps for TikTok analytics?

TikTok Studio and LIVE Center are free and cover your own account completely. Exolyt's Basic plan is free for one tracked account, hashtag and sound with 7 days of chart history. HypeAuditor's TikTok audit tool is free for checking any public creator. TikTokStats.com publishes TikTok LIVE category rankings for free.

How do I track my TikTok analytics?

In the app, tap Profile, the Menu button, then TikTok Studio and Analytics. The first time, tap Get started within Analytics and then Turn on. On a computer, open tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and pick Analytics in the sidebar. For a single post, tap More insights at the bottom of the post.

Do I need a Business or Creator account to see TikTok analytics?

No. TikTok's help center says creator tools, including analytics, are available for both Personal and Business accounts. The old advice to switch to a Pro account dates from 2020. A Business account adds Business suite, where you can download Reach, Engagement, Conversion, Followers and Audience data.

How far back does TikTok analytics go?

Plan around 60 days. Business suite offers the last 7, 28 and 60 days plus a custom range, and LIVE Center shows 7 up to 60 days. For year-over-year comparisons, download your data from Business suite each month or note your monthly totals yourself.

Which TikTok metrics should I track?

Watched full video and average watch time per post, traffic source (how much comes from For You), search queries, engagement rate against your own average, and net followers. For LIVE: average concurrent viewers, average watch time, new followers per unique viewer, and gifters. TikTok itself advises reading trends over time rather than obsessing over one metric.

Exolyt vs TikTok native analytics: what is the difference?

TikTok's native analytics cover only your own account but include private data — watch time, traffic sources and follower demographics. Exolyt can track any public account, hashtag or sound, which native analytics cannot, but for accounts you do not own it works from public numbers such as views, likes, comments and shares. Most businesses end up using both.

Where do I see TikTok LIVE stats and top viewers?

During a LIVE, tap the data section on screen for real-time numbers. Afterwards, open LIVE Center (in the app or at livecenter.tiktok.com) for views, unique viewers, peak and average concurrent viewers, watch time, new followers, gifters and Diamonds per stream. TikTok Studio's LIVE section also has a viewer ranking.

What happened to Pentos?

As of September 2026 the pentos.co domain no longer resolves, so we removed Pentos from this comparison. If you used it for trending sounds and hashtags, Exolyt tracks both, including one sound and one hashtag on its free plan.
